MWN: Hello! Thanks so much for taking the time to answer these questions. Let’s kick things off with the latest single “Push The Boat Out” what does that song mean to you as an artist and how are you feeling to finally have released it?
Hero Fisher: Hi! I’d say Push The Boat Out is one of the better songs I’ve written, but when we released it I had no idea whether people would connect with it, so it’s been great to have such a lovely response.
MWN: So you grew up in France and spent some time in England and Australia. How have the different places you’ve lived in shaped you as an artist?
Hero Fisher:I don’t particularly feel like I’m from any one spot so I find it hard to identify with feeling patriotic. I think maybe seeing things from different perspectives can only help shape ways of seeing.
MWN: Any bands from those places you recommend to our readers?
Hero Fisher: I played with Jack Ladder recently- he’s great.
MWN: When you go into the studio what aspects do you like to focus and play around with more?
Hero Fisher: I focus on the feeling of a song- the delivery of a song should to feel spontaneous and enjoyed. I love recording because everybody in the room has a specific job that they are excellent at performing. It’s the moment when we have prepared enough to be able to have fun creating sound and lose our minds in the process.
MWN: You’ve had the chance to support some legends in music including the Rolling Stones and Neil Young by opening for them Hyde Park. How was that experience like?
Hero Fisher: They were great days- especially Neil Young just because I think think he might be an angel.
MWN: Who is your dream collaboration can be a producer, band, and other musicians?
Hero Fisher: I dream of making music with Warren Ellis, Nils Frahm, John Frusciante… I could name a bunch of people I think are fantastic!
MWN: Those are amazing artist! I believe that wraps up this interview. Thank you so much once again for taking the time to do this.
