The Piano Man performed an amazing show at Busch Stadium last Thursday in St. Louis, Missouri. Amid protests outside of the stadium, Billy Joel started the night off with “My Life” and continued with fan favorites such as “The Entertainer” from his album Streetlife Serenade and “Vienna” from the iconic album The Stranger.  Referencing current events in St. Louis, “Hello, St. Louie. Glad you made it. I heard things have been a little tense around here”, Joel said. He continued his performance filled with positivity and good energy. Even at 68 Joel’s voice is as clear and pure as it was back in the 80’s. He still excites people with his soft melodic tunes. It’s true what they say about quality music never going extinct and he proved it. His music is timeless and still conserves its message. I feel like music like the one Mr. Joel performed that night is also beautiful in a sense that it unites people. Most people in that room felt the tension of the events that had been going on, yet they were able to put all that aside an enjoy a night of good music. When I would look up at the crowd they all seemed to be engaged with the music. Dancing and singing along to songs that were immensely important in the progression of what music is today. Music should bring people together and Mr. Joel’s music does just that. It is safe to say that if you attend a Billy Joel concert you will experience what good music at is fullest potential. You will also be entertained and feel connected to everyone around you.  Next time he stops in your city or a city near you I highly recommend you attend his concert.
