AUSTIN– Singer / songwriter from Willard, Missouri known as Chappell Roan graced the stage in Austin, TX on Jan 31. while supporting British singer Declan Mckenna on his U.S.A 2018 tour. Her beautiful vocals and angelic stage presence captivated the sold out show. She played a relatively long set for an opening act – consisting of nine songs, one of them being “Dreams” a song by the iconic band The Cranberries. She said before performing “Dreams” that the lead singer of The Cranberries Dolores O’Riordan had a big influence on her as an artist. Roan also played a lot of originals from her latest E.P entitled School Nights. Songs such as “Die Young”, “Good Hurt”, and “Sugar High” seemed to be crowd favorites. Considering this was the first night of the tour she did a great job keeping her nerves in check. Roan never missed a note during her quite long performance. In fact, she performed so gracefully that I am pretty sure everyone in the crowd was in love with her strong yet delicate vocals. Chappell Roan is definitely an artist to watch. Make sure to catch her performance as she keeps opening up for Declan Mckenna on more of his North American tour dates. For now check out our gallery from her set at Stubb’s BBQ in Austin, TX.
