MWN: Hello! Thank you for taking the time to chat with us. So lets kick things of by talking about this awesome tour you have been on. Which started with a sold out show in Los Angeles California at Hotel Cafe. So thus far what would you say  has been your favorite part about the tour? Any venues or crowds have stood out the most to you?

Corey Harper: Yeah! Actually the show in Dallas a,t The Rustic was one of my favorites. Just the whole venue was really cool- I’ve never been in a venue like that before. Like an outdoor. I had a lot of conversations with people after the show which is also fun.

MWN: Any other crowds other than Dallas?

Corey Harper: Well I think my LA shows are always really fun! Bottle Rock Festival was also really cool.

MWN: Yeah, I love LA there is always good live music there.

Corey Harper: Yeah, there is a lot of different kind of people and music. All sorts of musicians collaborate with each other that all have different sounds. The vibe is just cool and very diverse.

MWN: Now with this diverse scene- did the ‘LA Vibe’ so to speak, sip into your music at all?

Corey Harper: Yeah! 100% I was kind of intimated by LA. I was never really a performer or singer. I had to hop right in with all these very talented guitar players and singers, but I meet a lot of people that helped me craft my own sound and become a better performer. It is just like being thrown into something that is already going- people started and have been working longer and harder than I have. I have had a lot of amazing opportunities to where I can kind of be at the same level. It has been really humbling to meet a lot of amazing song writers and people that I play with and get inspiration from to be on the same bill and play with is amazing. I have also meet a lot of my heroes- like playing with Justin was cool. Jamming with a lot of them it is just surreal.

MWN: So speaking of jamming out. I know the writing process for musicians can differ and is constantly changing and evolving. So for you with this last song “Favorite Part of Loving You,” what was the process like?

Corey Harper: The process is always different. I tend to kind of always work in the moment- of like a feeling. It’s kind of like a sixth sense- when I know I am about to embark on something really cool, and I don’t know where it is coming from, but I just kind of work with it. Then I just figure something out on guitar or lyrically and just kind of build a house around that and try to work with the moment, and get it all out before the moment is gone. Writing songs and being a songwriter and being venerable just comes with that feeling. You are not going to try to fabricate anything, because it is something that is such a raw emotion. I love song writing it is very healing for me.

MWN: You seem like a very  genuine musician. When you perform live that shines through a lot- it is very cool. It seems like music is just a part of you- I guess. Do you remember when it all started?

Corey Harper: I started writing songs when I was 19, but I have always been a writer, and thought about things a lot. I think a lot. It is a great exercise on me, and I am really lucky to get to write songs and play guitar to kind of make sense of everything going in my mind.

MWN: So currently who has been inspiring you? I know the past you have mentioned artist like BB King, Fletwood Mac, etc. Any new ones?

Corey Harper: Yeah, I mean I listen to music everyday. I am inspired by new kind of sounds that I hear, but the core has always been song writers and like writers- authors.

MWN: That’s cool you also like appreciate literature. I think we have time for one last question. Is there anything you would like to say to the people who have supported your music so far?

Corey Harper: I am so grateful for people that appreciate my music. Thank you and I hope that my music can become more relevant to more people, and I am extremely grateful for all the opportunities that I have and the amazing fans.

MWN: Thank you so much for taking the time to talk us. We hope to see you keep growing as an artist.
