The wonderful thing about today’s crazy world of social media and electronics is that it can connect us to our favorite bands new tune in a matter of seconds. The revolution of streaming music has changed the game of the music industry. Now it is much easier for upcoming artist to put their work out for those craving to find the next best indie song. There comes a little pressure with that due to the fact that anyone can download their tunes to streaming services like Spotify or SoundCloud- meaning you song has to stand out more than all the thousands of songs also being downloaded to these services.
As a music journalist my job is to be on the lookout for dedicated artist with an ability to create kick ass tunes (it is a lot harder than you think). I go trough a lot of submissions a day looking for a tune that speaks to me. I recently was presented with a new band known as Night Time Blue the project of Richard Brooks. His new tune “Nothing’s Over” which was written, produced, and interpreted by Richard Brooks. It was also Co Produced, mixed and mastered by Joffy James and it features the vocals of Niya. The song “Nothing’s Over” has cool electronic sound to it without going over to the EDM genre. It still has distinct instrumentals like an awesome set of violin tracks with a melodic piano in the background. The vocals of both Richard and Niya are beautifully delivered and I am not trying to be cliche, but they fit like just like a puzzle. The song is a good indie song and deffo the start of something good for Richards career as a musician. Without a doubt I highly recommend taking a listen to this song! It is cool to support artist from the start and hey when they sell out arenas you get to say you were there for the entire journey!
