Dallas got a taste of the infectious tunes of the Chain Gang of 1974. In their North American Tour they finally made their stop in Texas. It was a Tuesday night in the streets of Greenville Avenue, nice weather, and a nice crowd. There was a vibe in the venue that just made you feel cool like their music is. They set of the night playing all of the crowd favorites. My personal favorite “Sleep Walking” was such a crowd pleaser. Literally everyone was dancing like mad. They totally smashed it. It was really cool to see people get hypped on a Tuesday night.
The Chain Gang of 1974 is the project of American musician and DJ, Kamtin Mohager. The band have made various stops in music festivals including Lollapalooza, Governors Balls, and Austin City Limits. The indie pop group worked on their album in their early 2010, Mohager combined both early EP’s into a digital only release titled ‘Fantastic Nostalgic. Which sounded and had a very 80’s vibe. In 2012, Mohager signed to Warner Music Group for the release of his third full-length album, Daydream Forever. The album is described as a continuation of the synth-heavy, reverb-laden dreams. His album “Wayward Fire”, was an immediate favorite to the retro/ hipster crowd.
