Opening for Mondo Cozmo, rocker Tommy Odetto provided a highly spirited set, complete with some seriously impressive guitar skills. From the start, Odetto’s energy was electric, beckoning the crowd into his performance. Spending much of the set bounding across the stage playing long, admirably difficult guitar solos, Odetto was a performer from a different time: one who cares so deeply about the music that the audience cannot help but get lost with him. At one point, the show had to pause because Odetto had broken his guitar from playing so enthusiastically. The audience responded in kind, raucously supporting Odetto as he performed. Odetto’s skill and liveliness make him a compelling performer, and one to definitely watch out for.
