2018 Vans Warped Tour @ NRG PARK – Houston

the used-10

HOUSTON, TX — The last ever Vans Warped Tour in the Houston area took place on July 08 and it was a memorable festival that went out with a huge bang. During the first few hours of the festival it was pouring so everyone had to get evacuated into an area inside of NRG to keep everyone in the festival safe. After the storm calmed, the festival was back on! There were so many fantastic bands playing the last run of Warped Tour such as: 3OH!3, Waterparks, Simple Plan, Issues, The Maine, Tonight alive and many more talented acts!

Many bands brought out the inner “emo” and “scene” in the crowd and it was an amazing sight to see. 3OH!3 started off their set with “My First Kiss” and as soon as it came on, everyone went wild. Photographers in the pit were singing and dancing as well as the crowd, even though it was still raining everyone was wet and enjoying themselves to songs they grew up listening to in middle school.

One of my personal favorite performances was made by Doll Skin. At the beginning of their set they brought out a fan, whose name was Melanie, to sing a song with them. Melanie and the band were having an amazing time on stage and the crowd was supporting them and singing their lungs out as well. It’s such a nice moment when you have band and fan interaction like that because it’s not something that you see often.

Simple Plan was another act who had amazing fan interaction as well. After performing the first song, lead singer, Pierre Bouvier jumped into the crowd and high fived and hugged a bunch of people. All the fans were going insane because they had one of their idols in front of them. It is awesome to see how the bands at Warped Tour care about fans interactions.

As usual this Warped Tour brought some of the BEST bands that have graced the staged in the past. They know what works with the crowd and every year they do something more for their loyal fans. There is so much that gets put in the making of the festival. All the charities that make up the tour are often the best part. If you find yourself on the grounds of Warped don’t forget to check all the tents (you might also spot your favorite musicians walking around).

Overall, the last run of Vans Warped Tour was an unforgettable experience. The rain made the festival more memorable and it was like a still from a movie – just like that the last bands were performing, the tents started to clear up, and Warped tour ended. Warped will forever hold a special place in our hearts and hopefully one day the festival will make a full run across the states again. Don’t forget to check out our photo gallery featuring some of our favorite bands and don’t miss your chance to attend the last Vans Warped Tour.
