The show opened with Electro-Pop artist Kiesza, featuring her all female band including her guitarist Rayna Zemel and the iconic Patty Schemel on drums. The girls came out on stage and completely owned it and made it theirs. Seeing Kiesza perform on stage with such passion and soul reminded me how much concerts were missed.
Kiesza performed her hit single “Hideaway” and this song made the crowd go wild! Seeing everyone get up, start singing and dancing to this song was incredible, it was nice seeing everyone be happy following this year long pandemic and concert hiatus.
A few songs in the singer went on to give us a little background history of the past years and the unfortunate car accident that caused her to go on hiatus. She was thankful to everyone, especially Lindsey for bringing her out on the road for this tour. Kiesza proceeded to end the show with some new songs, giving us all a sneak peak at what is yet to come.
After getting the crowd hyped by Kiesza, it was finally Lindsey’s turn to perform, as soon as she came on stage the entire crowd cheered in excitement. She had an entire crew of dancers who moved elegantly and effortlessly with the sound of the violin. Stirling performed one of my favorite songs, “Shatter Me” and it was INCREDIBLE to see live. Knowing that she could make dubstep/electronic music with a violin was mind blowing to myself and the other fans.
Lindsey even made the show interactive! As she played her song “Master of Tides” the screen displayed different options for the fans throughout the song. The choice would be made by fans by cheering the loudest for a specific option, each choice had a different outcome, but it definitely made you feel like you were part of the show. Stirling even mentioned that Houston was the loudest show of the whole tour, and that was something everyone was happy to hear.
One of the fan favorite moments was Stirling doing a Disney Medley, she played songs from “Up”, “Toy Story” and other films, it even had a special appearance by her dog Luna, it made the entire venue go “Awwww” and cheer both for the dog and Stirling. After performing this medley, Stirling gave a speech to remind everyone to follow the dreams that they had as a kid and that nothing is impossible.
At the end of the show Lindsey performed her song “Guardian” in memory of her dad who passed away. The crowd was left in awe and everyone gave her a standing ovation. The Artemis tour will run through September in North America and will resume in 2022 internationally. If she comes to a city near you make sure you go and check her out, this is a tour you DO NOT want to miss.
