As a creative, a music photographer and as a normal human being, there are times when I find myself stuck in a rut. Inspiration runs low and the drive that pushes us in our passions gets lost in the shuffle. Thankfully our muses reveal themselves in mysterious ways. For myself, the jumpstart came in the form of Verite and Phantogram.

September 5, 2019 in Kings Theatre Brooklyn marked a return for both artists. Verite, having completed her new album New Skin, treated fans to a taste of both old and new. Her vocal power, grade A stage presence and emotionally fueled lyrics quickly garnered her the approving cheers of the crowd. With recently released singles Youthand Gone as well as tracks off of her previous album Somewhere in Between, I (being a fanboy myself) can assure fans of the treat headed their way as she joins X Ambassadors on their upcoming fall tour.

Phantogram who’ve been relatively quiet since the release of their album Three, proved that ring rust does not exist in their vocabulary. Pulling from their arsenal of hits, tracks from what seemed like their entire discography rained down on the Brooklyn crowd. With When I’m SmallFall in Loveand recently released single, Mister Impossibleamong the gems in their set. Barthel and Carter’s stellar stage presence and chemistry sealed the deal in the inevitability of falling in love with the duo.
