Last Saturday Latinos in Miami had a very special night. Fiesta Latina 2019 took place & some of Latin music’s most popular artists performed all night long at the American Airlines Arena. IHeartRadio has been hosting Fiesta Latina every year for about 6 years now. This year’s event had both up & coming artists & veterans of the industry that every Latino knows & loves.

The night started off with good energy as Reggaetón group Gente de Zona took the stage. This duo has been making music for about a decade & still recently has some hits like. Bringing to their performance not just a musical element but a visual one too with colorful & playful visuals up on the screens. Their night ended with a huge crowd interaction as they sang their most popular song to date “La Gozadera”.

Panamanian artist Sech was next to perform & he brought out a surprise as he was the first act of the night to have back up dancers. The collective energy from the dancers, a DJ that took center stage, & Sech himself was very entertaining leaving not one moment to be boring for anyone watching in the audience. Following up, a Reggaetón pioneer took the stage. Tito El Bambino started to make things more interesting as his performance didn’t just include back up dancers & entertaining visuals but also smoke machines which would set off consistently keeping up the high energy. Tito sang songs like “Siente El Boom” “Mi Cama Huele a Ti” & “El Amor” the crowd definitely knew every word to his songs.

Jennifer Lopez also known as JLO is by far one of the most loved Latina artists to ever exist. Ranging from a huge skill set of acting to singing & even dancing the Puerto Rican artist knows no limits to her artistry & she put on a performance just so anyone in the audience can be sure of it. An incredible stage set & light show just added more power to her strong dance routine as JLO sang & danced in sync with her back up dancers. The set was one of the shortest of the night but JLO made sure to include some surprises like performing her new song “Baila Conmigo” for the first time live. Also paying tribute to her iconic role of Selena with “Si Una Vez”. To end her presence of the night she was awarded with IHeartRadio’s “Corazón Latino” award after her performance.

Pedro Capó another artist from Puerto Rico & with a musical career of over 10 years had a moment on the stage. His set was a bit different from anyone else around him as he was the only one on stage during his performance besides his band that played behind him. Pedro sang his hit song “Tutu” which the crowd recognized & sang along to. This was a good set to slow down the pace a little from all the high energy of reggaetón & the dancing before.

Ozuna, a name to remember as he’s been making his way through the hearts of Latinos everywhere this past couple of years. Incredible stage presence, a consistent & unique tone, & overall ability to connect with an audience left his performance to be rated as one of the tops from the night! The crowd was evidently sad when his set came to an end. But he made sure to have an epic exit as confetti covered the arena.

A Reggaetón icon & pioneer headlined the night with an incredible performance. Daddy Yankee showed off his abilities to rap fast as he took the time to mention every Latin country he could think of, of course with a lot of hype from the crowd. Daddy Yankee has been around for over 20 years & is still one of the most listened to artists in the world according to Spotify. He sang some of his older classics like “Rompe” “Lo Que Pasó, Pasó” & “Gasolina” & newer hits like “Dura”, “Con Calma”, & “China.” his music videos were shown on the screens adding to a visual element as well as musical one like Gente de Zona. He left the stage with a great reception from the audience.

Last but not least reggaetón group Jowell y Randy closed the night with some nostalgia as the group like Daddy Yankee & Tito El Bambino have been around shaping the reggaetón genre for decades. They performed some of their song like “No Te Veo” & “Bonita”

Overall this year we got a couple of surprises  & no matter what age you are at Fiesta Latina you got something special just for you. A part from the musical performances the crowd got surprise guests like William Levy & Ana María Polo. Two Latin icons on television & popular radio host Enrique Santos to host the show. We are looking forward to what next year brings & who we get to see hit the stage in 2020.
