On a Friday night in Houston, the House of Blues stage and venue was rattled and full of life as Gallant took the stage to open the night. Bringing his heart and soul along with him for his performance, Gallant proved his vocal power song after song. Performing tracks from his new album, “Sweet Insomnia”, Gallant made a sweet connection with his audience, drawing cries of praise met with loud “I love you’s” after just about every song. From his very first song to his last, there was an energy on that stage that no one has bought before. With smooth notes and an (unbelievably) powerful voice, Gallant transitioned into his 2015 hit “Weight in Gold”—a crowd favorite. Not missing a single beat, shouting the lyrics, and fearlessly dancing, Gallant’s audience matched his heart and wouldn’t leave for the night with anything less than this memorable performance. There is no doubt that hundreds of fans walked out with a new favorite artist on Friday night. An incredible vocalist, performer, and lyricist—Gallant is coming up and he’s coming up quick; you don’t want to miss out.

A dark stage. A single spotlight. Sabrina Claudio.

Never-ending shouts in anticipation for the first words to spill from her mouth—the crowd went wild. Throwing her hand up in the air to greet everyone with an air-kiss, Sabrina Claudio gracefully makes her way to the microphone and unravels her performance. Commonly categorized as a pop artist, Claudio’s R&B influences emerge and shine through her performance. Differing from her opening act, Gallant—a energetic and lively act, Claudio shows her liveliness through a more intimate performance.

Spending time in front of her microphone stand, Claudio uses her energy to master her heart and puts that in song. With a combination of sensuality and emotion, Sabrina Claudio performs and her audience simply listens. Singing and crying along, the emotion of the entire venue was extremely raw, vulnerable—beautiful. At times, the room was hushed enough as audience members were mesmerized at the sight in front of them. Displaying her emotion with her body language and her facial expressions, you could feel what she was feeling. Tracks such as “Take One to the Head” and “Unravel Me” met the audience with eruptions of applause and shouts of praise. Although she’s acknowledged herself as a much more shy and “to herself” type of woman, Sabrina Claudio broke through and delivered a stunning show—just proving her tremendous ability as an artist.
