Having photographed shows on a weekly basis to not having photographed a show in over 18 months, the time had finally arrived!! This feeling took me back to elementary school when you were too excited to go to bed the night before the first day of school.
It was Friday September 10,2021. Kevin Gates made his 8th stop of the tour here in Dallas,Tx at the Southside Ballroom. Having photographed Kevin at a festival in 2019 I knew what to expect from this show. With such a strong and loyal fan base he certainly knows how to put on a show. He is one of those artists where all he needs to do is put the beat of one of his songs and the crowd instantly starts signing it with or without him. Yea,certainly a dream come true for every artist.
After a performance by DDG, the crowd was ready for their star to come out. And yes I knew it, as soon as the beat to his song came on the crowd suddenly takes over and let their voices be heard. Kevin Gates is truly an Emcee. The way he motivates his crowd and lets them know that they’re never alone and that his music will always be there for them is truly heroic.
