America-born rapper Lil TJay saw huge success throughout 2020 and 2021 and was quickly propelled into stardom.  The 20-year-old released his second studio album ‘Destined 2 Win’ in 2021 which included his viral single ‘Calling My Phone’, a collaboration with American singer 6lack and a track that would be his highest-charting song yet. We were lucky enough to catch the rap star live and, in the flesh, as he jetted across the pond to Europe and the UK as part of his Destined 2 win tour as he touched down into Manchester for a sold-out show at the Manchester Academy. Support for the night came from Zie Zie, and DJ Kenny Allstar with a surprise appearance from Manchester’s own Meekz Manny.

The young star flew out onto the stage in insane fashion to a roar of screams from the fans eagerly waiting in attendance and the night began with a monumental bang. Lil TJay had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hands through the night and the atmosphere was truly electric. The Mancunian crowd were in awe of the American rapper and I’m without a doubt guessing that many of his fans in attendance were grateful to have the rapper travel all this way to perform to his now global fanbase. As the night went on Lil TJay would perform tracks from his recently released album as well as some of his most well-known songs including his collaboration with the legendary Pop Smoke on ‘Mood Swings’ and ‘Pop Out’ with Polo G.
