Paul Weller is an Icon of British guitar music. In the past he was a leader of bands like Jam and The Style Council but from 90s he is successfully developing his solo career producing many great quality songs.
The tour promoting his latest album Fat Pop Vol 1 has been already postponed once but finally he had a chance to present it to his fans. Last Friday I had a chance to see him in Liverpool Olympia.
Supporting band was The Lathums, a young band from Wigan who is already growing to be one of the most exciting bands in English guitar music. I only managed to see last couple of songs, but it was enough to convince myself that soon enough they will be filling venues like Olympia. Paul Weller and his band presented range of songs from his whole music career. He played 22 songs which took around 2.5 hours of great music. You could clearly see the energy between fans and an artist both in serious need of live music! This was a real Rock and roll and classic of British music in its best form. Weller is in great form, and I will not forget this evening easily.
