Four years ago, everyone’s favourite Canadian indie-pop band Peach Pit played a show at Manchester’s independent venue Gorilla. Now four years later the boys returned in great fashion to play a sold-out show across the road at the much bigger Manchester O2 Ritz. Peach Pit are fast-rising as one of the most exciting indie acts in recent years with their unique and original sound and incredible stage presence. The band, consisting of singer and rhythm guitarist Neil Smith, lead guitarist Christopher Vanderkooy, bassist Peter Wilton, and drummer Mikey Pascuzzi released their most recent album “From 2 to 3” in March of 2022 and swiftly announced a world tour including some of their biggest shows in Europe to date. Supporting Peach Pit on the European leg of the tour was Sun Seeker.

After the legends that are Sun Seeker warmed up the Manchester crowd it was finally time for Peach Pit to grace the stage. As the lights dimmed the boys walked out onto the stage into the darkness to what can only be described as an encore of cheers and screams, this was before they had even played a single note of music might I add.  The boys got the night started with ‘Brian’s Movie’ before launching into their self-titled song ‘Peach Pit’. Throughout the night the band would joke around with the crowd whilst still managing to quite simply own the stage with some of the most incredible performances I’ve seen in a long time. Peach Pit made the venue feel like the crowd travelled back in time four years at the previously-mentioned intimate venue with how close-up they performed and you could just see the admiration the band has for their fans, and this was well reciprocated from those in attendance. Peach Pit played fan favourites throughout the night like, ‘Alrighty Aphrodite’ and ‘Shampoo Bottles’ before ending the night in the most perfect way with encores of ‘Everything About You’, ‘Seventeen’ and ‘Tommy’s Party’. Peach Pit also announced a huge North American tour whilst on this European leg of shows for the Fall of this year, we highly advise getting down to one of their shows if you have the chance!
