American music duo The Driver Era are slowly but surely taking over the world with their massive army of fans. The band consists of brothers Ross and Rocky Lynch and The Driver Era first officialy formed in 2018 after both brothers were previously part of the band known as R5. Since their formation the band has gone from strength to strength with sell-out shows, tours and successful record releases. The band most recently released their ‘Summertime Mixtape’ which was a huge hit amongst their ever-growing fanbase. The boys now find themselves knee-deep into their biggest world tour to date which included several huge sold-out shows in the States and sees them take their music across the pond to tackle some of Europe’s most prolific venues. We were lucky enough to catch The Driver Era as they took over the Manchester Academy to play the final UK show of their UK and Europe tour. Support for the night came from Jessarae and a DJ set from fellow brother Ryland Lynch.
The lads were on top form throughout the entire night and lit up the packed-out Manchester venue with their astronomical energy and practically set those in attendance into a frenzy when they finally graced the stage. The Driver Era took plenty of time to thank the crowd overseas for supporting them and showing up to their concert. The boys played an array of songs from their long-standing discography with fan favourites that very much pleased everyone in the venue. Their debut single from when the band first formed “Preacher man” was a clear favourite for many in the room who had desperately waited a long time to finally see their idols in person. Lead singer Ross Lynch was especially in a good mood and was practically grinning from ear to ear from the start of the show until the end. If you took one thing away from this show it was that The Driver Era have an unprecedented amount of love for their fans and are set to have such a bright future ahead of them as a band.
