If you’re debating who the best live rap artist is in the scene is then you’d be hard pressed not to find Joey Bada$$ listed amongst the top 5 in contention and can arguably even fit him in as number 1 on the prestigious list. The American-born rapper has seen the highest of highs in his long-standing career, producing hit after hit and collaborating with some of the best in the business. This year saw Joey Bada$$ release his highly anticipated third studio album ‘2000’ which pays homage to the origins of his career with the 2012 mixtape ‘1999’ that shot the rap star into stardom and received great critical acclaim after its initial release. The ‘2000’ album was released on July 22, 2022, with guest appearances from icons such as Diddy, Westside Gunn, Larry June, Chris Brown, Capella Grey, and JID. After a super successful 20-date summer concert tour over in the States, Joey set out on a huge Europe tour taking over some pretty impressive venues across the continent. This included a very special return to Manchester’s beautiful Albert Hall venue, which Joey previous played in 2017. We were lucky enough to cover this spectacular return as the superstar sold-out the venue and turned a rather cold December night into an energetic night to remember. Support for the night came from Meechy Darko, Nyck Caution and Powers Pleasant
