JVKE performed his sold-out show in Los Angeles at The Wiltern on August 8, 2023, as a part of his “What Tour Feels Like” tour. Driving past this venue, you can see fans of all ages lining up around the corner eager to get in.
Following the debut of his album ‘this is what _ _ _ feels like (Vol. 1-4)’, JVKE brings his extraordinary talents across the country for his fans. His show, much like his album, is an intimate journey through human emotions.
As the lights dim down, the audience is greeted by the voice of an EI – not to be confused with an AI– who is described as JVKE’s “emotional intelligence”. EI is here to guide the audience traveling through all of JVKE’s thoughts and feelings. The set of the stage is designed as JVKE’s bedroom which the EI explains is where JVKE creates all his music to express his feelings. The bedroom design works as a character itself for the show as it sets the tone for the intimate and heartwarming show ahead. The colors that shine per track represent the emotional states and themes of the song.
In the darkness, fans hear JVKE’s voice speak out “this is what falling in love feels like” and suddenly the bright lights turn on, and out comes JVKE performing his song to his excited, screaming fans. Following that song, JVKE continues the show with his magical song “Dandelion” filling the venue with bright, colorful lights. You could feel the positive energy spreading from JVKE to the rest of his fans.
Staying true to the theme, JVKE takes his fans through all of his emotions that resonate with his audience. He touches on themes of romance, heartbreak, and his relationship with God. He truly captivates his audience by sharing his raw stories through his music.
As the show comes to a close, JVKE performs his soul-touching song “golden hour” bringing a very special guest out on stage to play the song for. A young fan named Lily Rose who had been diagnosed with cancer walks out on stage. Having her on stage and seeing JVKE bring a beaming bright smile to her face was a beautiful moment bringing the fans even closer. The stage illuminated a bright gold filling the place with warmth and light as JVKE played his song on the piano. Confetti filled the air as the fans sang their hearts out. It was truly a beautiful sight to behold. JVKE knows how to put on a show that really resonates with his audience. He sings with so much heart.
