Joyner Lucas is way too busy these days. He’s been on the road touring and promoting his second studio album Not Now I’m Busywhich the tour is also titled. Accompanying him on tour is fellow Mass native Millyz and viral YouTube sensation Dax

The show began with Millyz performing a few of his records like his latest single “Last Time” and a few freestyles to work the crowd. Next up was Dax. The man has energy. He IS energy…and he was able to immediately transfer it to the crowd. He opened his set with the spiritual letter to the man upstairs “Dear God” followed by the warning “Devil’s Calling”. Dax performed a few more records like “Dear Alcohol” and “To Be a Man” and ended his set with some unreleased music.

Now to Joyner.

Joyner is a absolutely one of the most creative artists in the game right now and this show is a testament to it. Joyner is one of the few artists in this era that produces a record with an engaging, thought provoking, heart-pulling visual to accompany it. It’s no surprise that he can integrate that into his performance. His set opens with a hilarious bit about him trying to bed a lady friend of his while his friends and family block it in every way possible. The short skit leads directly into him on stage as the curtains clear and Joyner wakes up from his short nap and wakes up the crowd with the album’s intro “Put Me On”. Joyner continued to weave in short skit interludes as the show went on for songs like “What’s That” and played the actual visuals for singles like “Broski” and the Jelly Roll collaboration “Best for Me”. He took the time to perform hits from his last album “ADHD” about three-quarters of the way through the show.

Joyner is a star talent and the show he put on showed he is here to stay in the music industry. Maybe even further. A sitcom doesn’t seem like a bad idea.
