Music, Why Not!

Alec Benjamin @ Jannus Live – St. Petersburg, FL

Nearly a week into The (Un)Commentary Tour, Alec Benjamin and Claire Rosinkranz found themselves at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg, Florida.  The two singer-songwriters brought their vibrant songs and comforting sounds to a young crowd at the celebrated outdoor venue, making it a night of solace and community.  Their music brought fans together, and along with their engaging performance styles, Alec and Claire made sure the show was not only something to watch but to experience fully.

The audience could not contain their excitement when Claire Rosinkranz took to the stage.  As soon as she started singing, fans were screaming and reaching out towards her, overcome with emotion.  Claire playfully bounced and spun around as she sang hits like “i’m too pretty for this,” “don’t miss me,” and “Frankenstein,” giving as much energy to the crowd as possible.  She also made sure everyone had a chance to show off their vocal skills, dividing the crowd in half and challenging them to sing as loud as they could to closing song “Backyard Boy.”

Before Alec and his band took to the stage, his name was heard all around the venue as the audience chanted it in anticipation.  With the help of his band, Alec was more than able to please the eager crowd, performing hits from his latest album, (Un)Commentary, and songs from his previous albums, Narrated For You and These Two Windows.  Throughout the set, the layout of the band took a different from, moving from stationary positions during songs like “Dopamine Addict” and “Devil Doesn’t Bargain” to a compact and intimate layout during other tracks like “Hipocrite” and “Older.”  It was refreshing to watch, especially when Alec performed stripped-back songs like “Hill I Will Die On” and “Shadow Of Mine,” the spotlight shining solely on him.  There was definitely a love and understanding in the air, with couples holding each other close and friends singing lyrics in unison.  Overall, the night was a success, setting the bar high for the rest of the tour.
