After being a long-time fan of Alexander 23 and catching him support popstar and close-friend Tate McRae earlier this year I had an instant urge to see a headlining show of his and to my delight I didn’t have to wait long for his very own UK tour to be announced. Alexander 23 has such an amazing stage presence, vocal range and ability to capture emotions in his songs that he is just born to be on the headlining stage and at the top of the charts. The Grammy nominated singer-songwriter is fresh off the back of his debut album ‘Aftershock’ which was released in July and followed a string of successful singles and EP releases. The American-born musician has worked with some of the biggest names in music like Selena Gomez, Charlie Puth and Olivia Rodrigo just to name a few, all while starting to see his own success on his own musical career. His talent is shown through his ability to write a range of melodic bops and at the same time write some of the most heart wrenching ballads around, Alexander 23’s previously mentioned Aftershock album also features hints of indie-pop/rock which is just another feather in the cap of this truly incredible musician. We were lucky enough to catch Alexander 23 as he played at Manchester’s underground Gorilla venue for his very first headlining show in Manchester. Support for the night came from the extremely talented Danny Dwyer.
