We were now on the last day of the festival – and wow was the weekend incredible, but nothing would compare to what was yet to come.
Chappell Roan was the artist everyone seemed most excited to see. Fans were lined up in their pink outfits as early as 8 in the morning hoping to get a good spot to see the singer. As soon as the gates opened, those waiting in line ran to the American Express stage to make sure their spot was secured for the day.
Daniel Seavey was the first performer at the American Express stage and he definitely helped set up the mood for the day. From playing guitar and piano, to going down to the crowd with fans, Daniel lifted everyone’s spirits despite the extreme heat and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him. The next artist we managed to catch was Misterwives at the Honda stage. Lead singer Mandy Lee came out with full energy performing “Organized Chaos” and fans immediately started singing along. The band gave it their all for their set, they performed songs such as “Where Do We Go From Here?”, “Superbloom”, and even fan favorites “Reflections” and “Our Own House”. After 4pm, the festival was in full steam ahead. Having Orville Peck, David Shaw and Cannons performing at the same time, followed by Jess Glynne, Kevin Abstract, San Holo and That Mexican OT, fans were going from stage to stage catching as many acts as possible.
It was finally time for one of the biggest performers of the weekend, Chappell Roan. The American Express stage was packed in a way I have never seen in previous years, it felt like everyone who bought a ticket to the festival was there. It was a sea of pink, from outfits, to cowboy hats to bandanas, almost everyone had something pink on. “Greetings from Chappell Land” appeared on stage and everyone cheered in excitement. Roan came out and opened the set with “Femininomenon” and the audience immediately started singing along. From fun dance moves, to pyrotechnics, the first few minutes of the set showed how incredible the performance would be. Roan taught the crowd the “HOT TO GO!” dance and had everyone dancing along with her during the song. She performed songs such as “Casual”, “Red Wine Supernova” and “Good Luck, Babe!”. Before ending the set, Chappell told the audience that this was the last pink pony club of the year, and ended the set with “Pink Pony Club” where everyone sang their hearts out. We can’t wait to see what Chappell will do next!
After Chappell’s set, attendees were either going to watch Dom Dolla, Qveen Herby or The Red Clay Strays, all great artists. The night ended with Sturgill Simpson taking over the Honda stage and Tyler, The Creator performing at the American Express stage. Tyler performed songs such as “LEMONHEAD”, “911” and hits “EARFQUAKE” and “See You Again”.
Austin City Limits 2024 was another incredible year filled with amazing musical acts, vendors, and activities throughout the park. We can’t wait to see what next year will hold, as each year gets better and better.
