MWN: Could you please introduce yourself and tell me a little more about you?
I’m Savannah Conley, I’m from Nashville Tennessee, I’m 22. I am a musician, I started playing music and singing at around 7. Both of my parents are musicians. I love coffee and that’s the most important part about me haha.
MWN: Can you tell me more about your twentytwenty EP?
Savannah Conley: It’s kind of a chronological breakup story. It kind of happened during a rough season, and then I recorded the three songs with my producer and it just ended up that way, I didn’t mean for it to be planned like that. I had written the songs and brought them as a group and he said let’s just do these 3 and that was that!
MWN: What’s your favorite song that you’ve written?
Savannah Conley: I’m always my worst critic so it’s kind of hard to say a favorite of anything when it comes to my own music. Honestly we’re working on some new stuff right now that I’m really proud of so that will probably take that slot when it starts rolling out. It changes as I make music.
MWN: Has there been one particular moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?
Savannah Conley: I think it all still feels like a journey, a climb. It feels like I’m not done moving up. I’m proud of a lot of the things I’ve done but at the same time there’s a lot more to do.
MWN: What influences your music? Where do you get your inspiration from?
Savannah Conley: The Raconteurs are one of my favorite bands. Jack white was huge for Nashville, he brought the indie scene in my opinion along with kings of leon. I have no shame but Coldplay so hard 100%. I love Coldplay, they’re huge for me. Fleetwood Mac, Blondie is one of my biggest influences for sure. Basically anything super emotional sign me up.
MWN: Is this your first time at ACL? IF so how do you feel. Any particular places you’d like to perform at?
Savannah Conley: Yeah it’s my first time at ACL! It’s kind of cold but it’s relaxed, everyone’s really nice. The lineup is insane, I’m super stoked to see many of the bands. This is an impossible thing but I’ve always dreamed that they would reopen the Moulin Rouge in Paris. It still has a stage I hear so it’s definitely my hope. I’d also love to play this cave outside of nashville, it’s called Caverns, it’s supposed to be like the coolest place ever but I’m gonna stick with the Moulin Rouge and manifest that it happens.
MWN: Any Last words you’d like to say before we finish this interview?
Savannah Conley: Look out for new stuff next year!
