Music, Why Not!

BAYNK @ The Complex – Salt Lake City, UT

Last Friday, fans started filling up The Complex in Salt Lake City, excited for a night of great music. BAYNK was in town and is one of the best dance/electronic artists that I’ve heard in a while. I personally am a fan, so I was very excited to cover the show. On this tour there were two openers, Nolie and Austin Millz. I hadn’t heard of them before but I’m always excited to see the openers, especially for artists I love.

Nolie kicked off the show and there’s a reason nobody has ever really heard of him, it was because this was his first tour ever and SLC he mentioned on stage was his 5th show in his whole life! Honestly it was really cool because while Nolie was performing, the crowds gave off screams and people were dancing, really enjoying it. He only has two singles released but performed a ton of original songs that will be released hopefully soon. After his set, he came and greeted fans, hugged them, and took photos with everyone. He was super sweet and exclaimed how excited he was for this journey.

Austin Millz was next and that really got the night going with dancing. He is a DJ and his set was full of different mixes of old and new music. On the floor everyone was dancing and jumping to his beats, and you could see same the same was happening at the bar level upstairs. Millz was vibing to his own stuff while playing on stage.

Once BAYNK came on, the crowd screamed with excitement and these giant, LED screen’s in the shape of a rectangle lit up the stage. The graphics that were playing on it were so cool! It was switching colors from blue to pink, to clouds and random bokeh. It was very visually appealing. Out from the fog in the middle of the rectangle appeared BAYNK with his set up. He was dancing around inside the box while playing his music and having a good time. At one point he picked up his saxophone and fans went wild as he blessed our ears with the tune. There was a lot of fog coming out from stage too. My favorite song by BAYNK is “INT.” and to hear that live, with the beautiful visuals was just magical. More people came down from the bar level to the main floor to join the dancing. It was a great performance.
