Beabadoobee @ Manchester Academy – Manchester, U.K.

Indie-rock/pop star Beabadoobee is rapidly cementing herself as one of the best and most well-known in the genre. After releasing five EP’s under major record label Dirty Hit, Beabadoobee released her debut album ‘Beatopia’ in July of 2022 which received critical acclaim after its release. During her esteemed career she has already toured with gigantic artists like Clairo and The 1975 and was nominated for the Rising Star Award at the 2020 Brit Awards. She is now well on her way to writing her own path for her career as she continues to go from strength to strength with every release and move that she makes. Beabadoobee’s latest challenge comes in the form of her ‘Beatopia’ tour which sees her headline some of the UK and Ireland’s biggest venues on her biggest tour to date. We were lucky enough to catch Beabadoobee as she took over the Manchester Academy for a very special show. Support for the night came from Pretty Sick, who just recently released her debut album ‘Makes me sick makes me smile’.

Beabadoobee had the entire crowd eating out of the palm of her hands from the get go. In the very first song she commanded the entire crowd to get down to the floor before instructing them to jump up on the drop of the song and it was like nothing I’d ever seen before. And this was just the start of the mayhem. She rocked the entire venue to its core with her anthems and incredible talent, playing a range of songs from her recent album and still squeezing in fan favourites from her early day mixtapes. Everyone in the room was absolutely full of life as they rocked out with Beabadoobee and the energy in Manchester was completely unparalleled. After a rocking set, Beabadoobee played an encore which included fan favourites, “Coffee”, “Ripples” and “Cologne”. If Beabadoobee ever plays a show near you, do yourself a favour and purchase a ticket as fast as you can, you won’t regret it!
