Music, Why Not!

Beabadoobee @ White Oak Music Hall Downstairs – Houston, TX

Beabadoobee made a stop in Houston as part of the “Beatopia” tour and it was a show for the books.

The show opened with the band Lowertown, consisting of bandmates Olivia Osby and Avsha Weinberg. Osby came out on high platform shoes with devil horns and Avsha with frankenstein bolts on his neck, while fellow band members had incredible makeup on. The set opened with the song “Scum”, and they immediately captivated the attention of the fans. Their grunge/rock sound was very unique and you could tell that they had the entire venue’s attention on them. They sang some songs such as “No Way”, “My Dog” and “Debris”, it was a good range of their entire discography. There was a moment during the set where Osby came down to the audience and sang. She took photos with fans, hugged a few and gave them an up close and personal performance, you could tell how much they enjoyed this moment. The set finished with “Bucktooth” and “Best Person”, the band thanked everyone for coming out and to enjoy the show that Beabadoobee was going to give us, Lowertown was a great way to start the night,  we can’t wait to see what’s in store for them.

It was finally time for Beabadoobee to take the stage. The singer came out wearing knee high shoes, a tank top that said “admit it you’re smitten” in reference to her song “You’re Here That’s the Thing” and most importantly, her guitar. The show opened with “10:36” followed by “Apple Cider” and “Care”. During the first few minutes of the show the singer told fans to get low to the floor before telling them to jump during the beat drop, the energy in the room was incredible. You could see the excitement in the faces of the fans throughout the venue, especially those at the barricade who waited all day to be as close as possible. She took a moment to thank fans for coming out to the show and told everyone to have as much fun as possible. The next song that was played was one of the songs that went viral because of Tik Tok, “The Perfect Pair”. Fans cheered and clapped as the song started and they did not miss a single word while singing. A few more songs that were played included “He Gets Me So High”, “Sorry” and “She Plays Bass”, a good range of songs she’s released through the years. The show finished with “Coffee”, “Ripples” and “Cologne”. Fans were singing these songs at full capacity and enjoying the last few moments of the night. If Beabadoobee or Lowertown come to a city near you, please make sure to attend, it’s a show that you won’t want to miss!
