Performing an incredible show deep in the heart of Texas, the powerful sounds of Buck Meek and Big Thief filled the Austin City Limits Live at Moody Theater with their breathtaking melodies and deep, heartfelt lyrics. Opening the night with his cowboy country influenced sound, Meek came back to his home state to captivate a sold-out venue with his effortless guitar picking and strumming. Emotionally charged, Meek sang songs that told stories that most might feel as relatable in a mysterious, and impassioned sort of way.
Following, Adrianne Lenker took the stage leading her band, Big Thief to perform a night filled with layered songs that she carefully scripted and tuned throughout the set. Big Thief’s set drew from their most recent release, “Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You”, and several other improvised riffs that the crowd joyfully danced and sang along to.
Lenker’s and Meek’s obvious care for their music is something any music fan should experience. It is most definitely a night and sound I will not forget.
