Music, Why Not!

Big Time Rush @ Smart Financial Center – Houston, TX

Big Time Rush brought their Forever Tour to Houston, and wow, was it a fun and nostalgic show.

The show opened with Spencer Sutherland. He opened his set with “Tell Me” and his raspy voice immediately caught my attention as well as the fans. He then proceeded to sing a cover of “Benny and the Jets” and immediately the crowd started singing along with him. It was fun seeing so many people singing along to this classic song. He then proceeded to sing his song “Indigo” and also managed to cover “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus in between, fans immediately put their phone flashlights on and synched in waving them across the venue. Sutherland continued his set with the songs “Everybody”, and “Chicken Little” before ending with “Sweater”. The fans and I enjoyed his set and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him

It was finally time for Big Time Rush to perform, a giant curtain with “Big Time Rush Forever Tour” was set up and fans screamed in excitement knowing that their favorite artist was about to perform. The curtain dropped and the entire venue was filled with fans screaming. They opened the show with “Windows Down” and immediately everyone joined them in unison to sing the song. After the song ended the band took the time to thank everyone for attending, they then proceeded to sing songs such as “Honey”, “Love Me Again”, and a fan favorite “Any Kind of Guy”.

During a brief moment, Carlos announced that the band worked on some new songs in Miami and one was a spanish song called “Dale Pa’Alla”, they even had choreography to the song which was taught to the entire venue and Kendall showed us his spanish singing skills as he briefly sang an acapella version of the song, while the rest of the members were teaching the choreography to the fans. The song was so much fun and you could tell how much everyone enjoyed it. During the song “Worldwide” Kendall, James, Logan and Carlos each brought a fan on stage and dedicated the song to the person they picked. You could see the excitement in the fans’ faces when their favorite singers were singing to them directly in front of thousands of people.

During the songs “Time of Our Lives” and “Paralyzed” the boys went out to the crowd and sang amongst the fans, they even went to the furthest seats all the way in the back of the venue, they stated they wanted to be up close and personal with as many fans as possible, it shows how much they truly care about their audience. The show “finished” with “If I Ruled the World” and the fans screamed wanting an encore. The band came back out and performed the Big Time Rush theme song and immediately fans were hit with a bunch of nostalgia hearing this song in person, including myself. The final song of the night was fan favorite “Boyfriend”, the band told fans to scream this song as loud as they could and enjoy every second of it. Canons blew with confetti around the venue and the band took a bow and gave the shirts that they were wearing to fans. It was a truly memorable night and if the band comes to a city near you please make sure to attend, you will not regret it.
