Music, Why Not!

Boy Pablo @ Manchester Club Academy – U.K.

The indie pop music project Boy Pablo have a sound like no other which is accompanied by a discography that you just can’t help but vibe along to. The group is a product of Chilean–Norwegian singer songwriter Nicolas Muñoz who writes, records and produces the project’s music and is joined by his touring band as they perform. May 2020 saw Boy Pablo release its debut studio album, ‘Wachito Rico’, meaning ‘handsome boy’, and we were lucky enough to catch this incredible album being toured around Europe as they landed in Manchester, UK.

First to grace the Manchester Club Academy stage was Brighton band ‘Fur’, the stage presence these boys had was absolutely unreal and the perfect way to kick off the night. Throughout their set the lads had the crowd in the palm of their hands, constantly bantering back with the crowd with humorous heckle replies and quickly got the crowd familiarised with their songs and material. Frontman Murray even got up close and personal with the mancunian crowd towards the end of the set as he jumped up on the barriers to a roar of cheers from the audience. The Brighton boys have a brand-new single releasing soon, ‘Anybody Else But Me’ from their upcoming debut album later this year.

With the crowd hyped and ready it was time for the main event to begin as 22-year-old Nicolas Muñoz, best known as Boy Pablo, bounced onto the stage and immediately made his mark. The whole band were electric throughout the entire night as they truly rocked the club academy to its core, fan favourites (and personal of mine) like, ‘Hey Girl’, ‘Feeling Lonely’ and ‘Dance, Baby!’ were played as the night went on and I know that many in the crowd would be wishing that this night would never end. It was a pleasure to see this rising talent at such an intimate venue and I have no doubt that Boy Pablo will be making huge impacts in the music industry in the very, very near future!
