Boygenius performed to a sold out crowd at White Oak Music Hall this past Friday night, and wow, was it a show to remember.

The group, consisting of Julien Baker, Lucy Dacus, and Phoebe Bridgers are on tour promoting their debut album as group “The Record” and Houston fans made sure to welcome the band to a sold out show. Fans lined up at the venue as early as 10 AM hoping to get a good spot in the lawn to see their favorite band. Unfortunately, mother nature had other plans and caused a big storm causing the show to be delayed, and modifications being made to the set. The doors opened at around 7:45PM and fans immediately rushed into the venue to secure their spot. You could see the excitement in everyone’s face knowing that they were finally one step closer to seeing their favorite artist after a long day.

It was finally time for the show to start, the lights dimmed and the trio was shown on the screens performing “Without You Without Them” offstage. Fans cheered in excitement and immediately joined in singing. The trio then arrived on the stage and sang “20$” – the venue roared with screams from attendees, after a long day, they were finally seeing their favorite artist in front of them. They took a brief moment to thank everyone for coming out and going through the day that attendees went through. The set continued with songs from “The Record” such as “Emily I’m Sorry”, “Cool About It” and a personal favorite “Not Strong Enough” to songs from their EP “boygenius” such as “Me & My Dog”, “Salt In The Wound” and “Ketchum, ID”. Even though the set was slightly shorter than previous shows, they sure did give fans all the favorites and was enjoyed by everyone.

The set ended with Phoebe’s “Graceland Too”. The song had to be restarted twice due to there being emergencies in the audience, but once everyone was okay and the song was finally being performed, the fans sang at the top of their lungs for this last song. The show was definitely one for the books and is one that will live in the memory of everyone. If Boygenius comes to a city near you, please make sure to attend. It’s a show you will not regret.
