Music, Why Not!

Carly Rae Jepsen @ 713 Music Hall – Houston, TX

Carly Rae Jepsen brought The “So Nice” tour to Houston and it was an immaculate show.

The show started with opener Empress Of, the singer performed among a stage full of mirrors. Her choreography and singing sparked interest in fans and you could see how much they were vibing to the music, there were even some longtime fans who were singing all the words with the singer. She was a great opener and definitely got the crowd excited for the main act.

It was finally time for Jepsen to perform, fans cheered her name louder and louder in hopes that the singer would come out faster. As soon as the lights went out, the entire venue was full of screams of excitement. The show started with a projection of an animated moon on the screen welcoming us to the show, Jepsen then came out and opened the show with “This Love Isn’t Crazy”. Fans immediately started singing along in unison, they were also in awe of the beautiful stage/production which was filled with clouds, stars and incredible projections. She thanked everyone for coming to the show and encouraged us to have a great time throughout the night. For the next song, one of Jepsen’s band members went on stage and started playing the saxophone, immediately fans knew what song was next, “Runaway With Me”, a fan favorite. Everyone was screaming the lyrics at the top of their lungs, feeling every emotion behind it. It was such a cool moment, and a very strong way to start the show.

Jepsen played a wide range of songs from her entire discography, from “Kiss” to “Dedicated Side B”, there was something for every fan in the room. For the next song, Carly told everyone in the venue to sing it as loud as they could, and “Call Me Maybe” started playing. The entire venue immediately joined in singing, it was amazing hearing this song live. Following the song there was a quick intermission, the singer came back in a completely new outfit and began the second half of the show, fans loved the outfit change. She continued the show with songs such as “I Really Like You”, “For Sure” and “Your Type”.  The singer also played songs from her upcoming album “The Loneliest Time”, such as “Beach House” and “The Loneliest Time”. The set “ended” with “When I Needed You”, Jepsen took a bow, and thanked everyone for coming to the show before exiting the stage.

Fans once again cheered the singer’s name in hopes for her to come back and do an encore, when she came back on stage everyone cheered for her. The last song of the night was “Cut to the Feeling”, Jepsen wanted everyone to sing it as loud as they could and to really be present. Midway during the song she came down into the crowd and was up close and personal with fans, even signing some autographs and getting some pictures with fans before confetti cannons blew confetti through the venue. She thanked everyone for coming out to the show and fans cheered and clapped for her as she exited the stage, it was truly a memorable night. If Carly Rae Jepsen comes to a city near you please make sure to attend, it’s a show you will not regret!
