MWN: What has been your favorite moment on tour so far?
Chappell Roan: I always like it when people give me roses on stage. That’s always my favorite. At one point Declan decided to crawl in to (keyboardist) Will Bishop’s shirt and just dance around. It was just a really fun moment. It’s always fun meeting some of the crowd after the shows.
MWN: Yeah, there’s already a line out there!
Chappell Roan: Yeah! There are always lines outside. It’s so crazy!
MWN: How does this tour differ from your previous tour with Vance Joy?
Chappell Roan: This tour is a lot smaller. This tour is 45 shows and the last one was 17. So we get to go to a lot more places and do a lot of things I’ve never done before. The crowds are younger too. I see a lot of high schoolers, which is fun because everybody is dancing around and screaming. It’s always a blast!
MWN: Do you have any preshow rituals?
Chappell Roan: If I’m having a rough night I’ll drink a cup of tea. Before we go on stage, we do a little dance!
MWN: That sounds like so much fun. You wrap up in nine days. What’s next for you?
Chappell Roan: Well I’m going home and take some time off. This has been two months of just grind. It’s been so fun, but I’m getting tired. There isn’t another tour planned yet. We’ll be finishing up the album, and prepping for an album release! I don’t know when it’s going to happen, but that’s what we’ll be doing next.
