Singer Charlotte Sands celebrates the release of her debut album “can we start over? ” with a world tour and stops by Houston.

Charlotte Sands, deemed a pop-rock girlie by fans, is a standout artist that takes on an energetic persona through her musical projects. After multiple singles and well-known EPs like Love and Other Lies and Good Now, she released her debut album can we start over? earlier this year under CS Records. The album is a strong suit and combines her pop-punk and upbeat melodies with a mature style of lyricism. She embarked on her world tour to promote the album in Early March, and made her way to Houston on the third date in Texas and overall.

To get the crowd excited, the pre-show playlist included a bunch of everyone’s favorite emo tracks like “I Write Sins, Not Tragedies” by Panic! At the Disco and “Check Yes, Juliet” by We The Kings. The lights dimmed and everyone whipped out their phones to record as Charlotte took the stage. The blue lights reflected against the singer’s vibrant blue/green hair as she sang the beginning of her debut album’s title track “can we start over?” Sands bounced all around the stage and interacted with fans as she sang songs “pity” and “bad day.”

“I’m going to do some impromptu speaking here due to some technical difficulties” Sands exclaimed as she grabbed her guitar and her sound guy fixed her in-ear monitors. Fans were shouting at her stating that they caught her set at Austin City Limits in 2023, where Sands responded that she grew up watching the festival with her dad and performing at the fest made her dreams come true. Once the technical difficulties were resolved, she continued to sing songs like “dead body,” “on the outside,” and “rollercoaster.” During the track “get over it,” fans remained engaged as they swayed their hands side to side.

The night ended with Charlotte finishing her Houston set with vigorous performances of “alright,” “spite” and “dress.” She thanked her openers Chloe Wilder and Senses, along with encouraging people to register to vote with HEADCOUNT, which combines music and politics by raising social and political consciousness.

Throughout the entire set, Charlotte Sands proves her dedication to music as she powers through every song with such emotion and a whirlwind stage presence. While Sands performed in the Bronze Peacock room, the smaller room, at House of Blues, the crowd’s energy was momentous and memorable – everyone was either jumping, headbanging, or simply singing along to the words. The singer has performed with artists like YUNGBLUD, Pierce the Veil and the Maine, but her Houston performance showed that she is a worthy headlining act that will continue to be on the rise.
