American singer-songwriter Clairo has captured the heart of millions around the globe with her heartfelt and emotional records. The 24-year-old is up there with some of the best in the world when it comes to writing sad songs that will have you crying and feeling emotions you’ve never felt before. Clairo, real name Claire Cottril, was the well-deserved recipient of the NME’s Best New Act In The World award back in 2020 and has been on a rise to the top ever since, releasing her sophomore album “Sling” in July of 2021. We were lucky enough to catch Clairo in the penultimate show of her sling tour as she played to a sold-out crowd in Manchester down at the infamous Manchester Academy. Support for the night came from the wonderful Jonah Yano.

The previous night’s show in Glasgow had been cancelled due to Clairo suffering from a nasty sinus infection, however it seems that the Manchester crowd in attendance gave Clairo just what the doctor ordered as the energy and love from those in the venue flowed straight through to Clairo and she was on top form the entire night. The singer was grinning from ear to ear throughout the whole show and didn’t skip a beat throughout. The sold-out crowd even managed to make Clairo tear up during the night with a very special and touching fan project that was revealed to Clairo mid show and was very emotional to witness. The star has bags of love for her fans and it was so clear how grateful she was during the show, at one point even bringing out her own film camera to snap a photo of the crowd and it was given one of the biggest cheers of the night!  Clairo would go on to play a range of hits from both of her albums including fan favourites like ‘Bags’, ‘Flaming Hot Cheetos’, ‘Pretty Girl’ and she ended the night with her most successful hit ‘Sofia’.
