If you’re looking for a song to vibe to or to enjoy a good moment then you can’t go wrong with picking any one of Dayglow’s incredible songs from his discography. His whole sound screams serotonin and will have you up and on your feet in no time. Sloan Struble, best known as Dayglow, is an indie-pop project with one of the catchiest sounds out there. Dayglow released its first album ‘Fuzzybrain’ in 2018 which featured hits such as “Can I call you tonight?” and “Hot Rod”. More recently they released their second studio album ‘Harmony House’ in May of 2021 and they were now finally able to take this fantastic piece of work all the way from Texas to Europe, as they set off on the long-anticipated Harmony House tour which included a sold-out date at Manchester’s Academy 2 venue. Support for the night came from rising band Far Caspian.
As the academy room filled itself to the brim, it was finally time for Dayglow to take to the stage. Performing members of the band Peyton Harrington, Brady Knippa, Norrie Swofford and Colin Crawford all took their places infront of the crowd before Sloan joined them shortly after and the full formation of Dayglow was complete. The night got off to an impeccable start with “Something” and the good vibes flooded into the room like a tidal wave. Dayglow put on one of the most fun shows I have seen in a long time, great tunes with great performances. What more can you ask for? Throughout the night fans would be treated to favourites such as “Listerine” and “False Direction” and the group even treated the sold-out crowd to some unreleased songs which will hopefully be released in the very near future. A highlight of the night certainly had to be the Franz Ferdinand “Take me Out” cover which was the first encore song and completely tore the roof off of the academy building and was a memory I’ll keep forever. The night ended with “Run the world!!!” and it was the perfect end to a perfect show.
