Fresh off the release of his latest studio album ‘MELT MY EYEZ’, Denzel Curry jetted over from across the pond to play a run of highly anticipated shows across Europe in some of the biggest cities in the world. The 27-year-old’s latest body of work sees him collaborate with fellow rap stars 6LACK, J.I.D, T-Pain and the UK’s very own Slowthai, to name just a few. Denzel reportedly began rapping while in the sixth grade and began working on his first mixtape in 2011, to this day the star is yet to put out a record that hasn’t received significant acclaim from his fans worldwide or from the wider rap community, and if his latest album is anything to go by then he doesn’t seem to be stopping this amazing run of releases anytime soon. We were lucky enough to capture the legend himself as he touched down in Manchester for a sold-out show at the Manchester Academy. Support Denzel on the night was one of the best line-ups I’ve seen in recent years and did more than enough to hype up the already energetic crowd, it consisted of DJ Melly, Playthatboizay, Dexter and Sainte.

As rain began to rain outside the Manchester venue, the fans inside were cooking up a storm. The room was filled with energy and quickly became hot with anticipation for Denzel to take the stage, so much so that when he finally did it felt like the roof would come off. Curry got the night started off with the first track from the ‘MELT MY EYEZ’, album, “Melt Session #1” before picking up the pace with “Walkin”. The crowd were next level on the night, moshpits were flying left right and centre and you could tell Denzel was feeding off of this energy and giving one of the best performances of his life. As the set went on long into the night Denzel would play fan favourites like “CLOUT COBAIN | CLOUT CO13A1N”, “RICKY” and the infamous track “Ultimate”. It was truly a night to remember and one that many in the building had waited years to experience and one that they wouldn’t be forgetting anytime soon.
