The incredible British alternative indie band Easy Life have such a unique sound and energy to them that it’s no wonder as to why this group has seen huge success throughout the years. Originating from Leicester, England, the group consisting of members: Murray Matravers, Oliver Cassidy, Sam Hewitt, Lewis Berry and Jordan Birtles released their debut album ‘Life’s a beach’ in May 2021 which peaked at 2nd on the UK album charts. The band continuously rises to new highs and after the success of this phenomenal album the lads set off on a UK and Europe tour, selling out venues across the regions including a sold-out show at Manchester’s infamous Albert Hall which we were lucky enough to catch. Support for the night came from talented rapper Berwyn.
If there’s one thing to be said about Easy Life it’s that these lads sure know how to put on a show. The stage was set and the lights dimmed as it was finally time for the show to begin. The prestigious Albert Hall centre stage was filled with musical instruments, backing singers and ocean wave cardboard cut-outs to match their debut album artwork and the boys graced the stage to a roar of cheers and screams. From the get-go it was set to be a memorable night and the Easy Life lads began the night with the song that kick-started the band and their very first single as a group, ‘Pockets’. Easy Life are known for their wild antics when performing live and are most definitely a band that you need to see in person in order to understand their musical talents. An Easy Life show is not complete without stage dives from the boys and having an all-round good time throughout and this night in Manchester was no different, however the Manchester crowd turned up the energy to the next-level and in a moment that I’ve never seen or heard of before the crowd managed to break the security barriers with the sheer energy of the show. This issue was quickly dealt with and much credit has to be given to all parties involved including the band who quickly brought the show to a halt, and the crowd for listening to venue security to ensure the safety of all of those in attendance was accounted for. The show got back underway and everyone was able to view this moment as a memorable one and to me this just proves how much energy and excitement surrounds this band and I for one am very excited to see what the future has in store for these incredibly talented individuals.
