Music, Why Not!

Echosmith @ House of Blues Bronze Peacock – Houston, TX

Echosmith brought the “Hang Around” tour to Houston on November 3, and it was a show to remember.

The show started with openers Band of Silver and lostboycrow. Both of these artists had such amazing vocals and energy. They each were able to get the crowd hyped for the show, you could even spot some long term fans of the openers in the audience, they did amazing opening up for the headliner.

It was finally time for Echosmith to perform. The trio came out on stage and fans started cheering and clapping for them ecstatically. The band opened with their latest single “Gelato” and fans immediately joined them in singing before moving onto the next songs “Over My Head” and “Diamonds”. Lead singer Sydney Sierota thanked fans for coming out and spending Friday night with the band, she introduced her brothers Noah on guitar and Graham on drums and encouraged us to have as much fun as possible throughout the night.

Before playing the next song, Sydney asked fans in the crowd to think of someone that was there for them in the past few years, then soon started picking out fans one by one asking them to share with the crowd who they thought of. One fan named Andrea stated that she thought of her mom, and the singer invited her to come on stage. Sierota asked fans to film the next few minutes, gave a warm message to Andrea’s mom and even included the entire venue in the video, it was such a sweet moment. The band proceeded to sing “Tell Her You Love Her” which then transitioned into a cover of “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac. This was personally one of my favorite moments in the show because I had seen Stevie Nicks perform this song live earlier in the week and it made me happy seeing one of my favorite bands cover the song.

This show was one of my favorites in a long time, there was so much artist/fan interaction, it only comes to show how much they love their fans. During this next segment the band brought out a jar of fortune cookies with 3 songs on them. The band chose a fan to pick a cookie and they would perform the song that was picked, in this case it was “Safest Place”. The cheer that roared throughout the venue was one of the loudest I heard all night, you could tell how many fans loved this song. They then continued to play a medley of their entire discography which included songs such as “Let’s Love”, “Come Together”, “Get Into My Car” and many more!

The show started to wind down and come closer to an end and the band played additional songs such as “Goodbye”, “Lost Somebody” and even covered “ Take My Breath Away” by Berlin. The show ended with “Cool Kids (Our Version)” and every single person in that venue joined them in singing. A machine filled the venue with bubbles while the song was played and it made the moment more magical. The band thanked everyone for coming out to the show once again and wished us a good night.

If Echosmith ever comes to a city near you, please make sure to attend, you are guaranteed to have a fun night of dancing, singing and new memories!
