Late last month, FLETCHER brought her current tour of North America to a sold out crowd at Portland’s Wonder Ballroom. FLETCHER broke out as a powerful voice in the music world as someone who was always willing to be vulnerable and honest with her audience. Her 2019 single “Undrunk” brought her career to new heights and she’s only continued to impress since then. Tracks like “girls girls girls” (which samples Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl”) and “Cherry” with fellow queer songstress Hayley Kiyoko are among her newest singles and happen to be some of her best. Their snappy, catchy production is undeniable and FLETCHER’s charisma and earnest delivery is the cherry on top.
The second that FLETCHER hit the Wonder Ballroom stage, you could feel her presence. The crowd roared and she promptly kicked into her set that the crowd seemed to know every word of. Her live vocals were impressive from the start of the show until the end of the show, and her charisma shone like the disco ball hanging from the ceiling. She sang tracks from the different eras of her career thus far and wasted no opportunity to interact with the crowd, yet she always managed to keep her talents as a storyteller at the forefront. The show perfectly represented the artist that FLETCHER has become and we’re so happy we go to experience it.
