Float Fest @ San Marcos River – Texas

JOSH1233

One of the hottest weekends Texas has dealt with this year just happened to be the same weekend of Float Fest in San Marcos, Texas. A different kind of festival that involves floating a long Texas river, carnival games and rides and of course music.Thousands of people came together to see acts such as Tame Impala, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Bassnectar, Modest Mouse and many other artists.

This festival has really shown its growth over the past few years since it began and it will only get bigger from here. With Bassnectar headlining night one of the two-day festival, many bass heads flocked to the Water stage with flags, lights and many other objects well known at EDM shows. The fans raged on head banging to each song he performed, and it was a great light show production he put on for this festival.

Both days saw a different crowd in people with different genre headliners on each night, and Tame Impala closing the festival out on day two. Weaving through the crowd, you saw many people in their swimsuits who just floated the river, others wearing bright neon and fury clothing, girls wearing the standard festival outfits with crop-tops and bralettes which brings together the different kind of people at this festival with many genres of artists taking the stage.

Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg, two hip-hop legends gathered very large crowds with many fans hoping to get a glimpse of their performance.

Float Fest is one of a kind festival where camping is also allowed outside the festival. If this festival happens again next year, be prepared for the scorching hot Texas sun to be beaming on your body, stay hydrated and be prepared to have a great time.
