Music, Why Not!

Hozier @ Manchester Castlefield Bowl – Manchester, U.K.

It goes without saying that you can argue a strong case for Hozier being one of the best musicians to come out of Ireland, and after finally seeing him live I for one am willing to die on that hill. Hozier has been almost effortlessly producing hit after hit ever since he released his debut EP in 2013 which featured the now worldwide famous track “Take me to church”. Ever since then Hozier has captured the hearts of millions around the world with his captivating, heartfelt music and constantly cements himself as one of the best songwriters of our generation.

When Hozier was announced to be a part of Manchester’s outdoor gigs at the beautiful Castlefield Bowl venue, I was already extremely excited for the show and then in May Hozier announced that his latest album ‘Unreal Unearth’ was finally complete and would be releasing on August 18 th . This came with a string of both intimate album release shows and a huge arena tour across the UK later in the year. This made this special outdoor show in Manchester a very special warm-up for the release, and you could instantly tell that Hozier was excited to return to music and provide his adoring fans with new music. The Castlefield Bowl venue was buzzing with anticipation for Hozier to take to the stage and after they were warmed up by the brilliant Victoria Canal and The Tesky Brothers, it was finally time for Hozier to take to the stage. Hozier played a phenomenal setlist with some of his fan favourite songs that span all the way back to his debut album and to some of his more recent releases. Hozier truly is one of those artists that you need to see live in the flesh to truly grasp the greatness of his music, his emotional and heartfelt performances open up a new level to his already incredible songs and provide you with an extra special memory that makes them that much more special in the process.
