iDK HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME @ Jannus Live – St. Petersburg, FL

About a month into The Thought Reform Tour, you would think that iDKHOW BUT THEY FOUND ME would be somewhat exhausted after so much time on the road.  If they were, it never showed, as they were able to bring the heat to the chilly outdoor venue of Jannus Live.  And with the venue claiming that this was one of the biggest crowds they have ever seen, was there any way that the band, and opener Superet, could not deliver?

Our Saturday night began with power pop act Superet, who took over as the opener on the tour after Beach Goons had to drop out a few weeks ago.  Bringing a colorful show filled with spectacular lighting and whimsical dance moves, the guys gave it their all.  Fans were treated to some of the band’s biggest hits, from “Go to Sleep Kimberly” and “Bone Bag” off their debut album, How To Work A Room, to recent singles “Prism” and “Pink House.”  It was clear that the audience could not get enough, happy to throw their hands up and wave them from side to side when needed or try their best at mimicking some of frontman Matt Blitzer’s moves.  When their set came to a close, Matt enthusiastically told the crowd a simple trick to remembering their name:  “Superet – Don’t Forget!”

As soon as the first of the decorative plants was brought onto the stage for iDKHOW’s set, the crowd went crazy – a sure sign that they were more than ready for what was to come.  The band easily matched the audience’s energy, making the most of their time on stage.  In between playing songs such as “Leave Me Alone,” “Sugar Pills” and “Need You Here” from debut album RAZZMATAZZ, frontman Dallon Weekes playfully engaged with the crowd, splitting them up into teams and asking if the rumors that St. Petersburg wasn’t into dancing or singing were true.  The fans definitely proved those rumors false, actively jumping in time to the music and screaming the lyrics to each song at the top of their lungs.  While the band enjoys telling their fans that they may or may not exist, there was no doubt that they existed at Jannus Live, making it a Saturday night to remember.
