Music, Why Not!

In Bloom Music Festival – Houston, TX (Day 2)

In Bloom Music Festival, previously known as “Free Press Summer Festival” started out with a huge bang for its first year ever. The festival was organized in Eleanor Tinsley Park in Houston, TX. They brought incredible variety of artist such as: Beck, Incubus, Queens of the Stone AgeMoon Taxi, Broods,  Explosions in The Sky and many more. No matter what type of music you like the festival had someone for everyone and trust us me when I say this- the performances were incredible!

T-Pain the famous raper performed his big hits like “Cyclone” and “Booty Wurk.” I could hear the fans from the photo put singing the lyrics and it was incredible. His performance was truly unforgettable. He then went to perform one of his biggest songs “Low” with Flo-Rida and that really got the whole crowd going wild. Everyone was singing and dancing together with the biggest smiles on their faces. Music always brings people together and seeing it actually happen is an incredible feeling.

Broods, Moon Taxi, and Explosions in The Sky  took the stage next! Each of them performing incredible sets. Broods had a very outgoing set of fans that you could not miss. From were I was standing I could see their fans singing their hearts out with their eyes closed. The energy was out of this world and the music was most definitely moving everyone to the beat!  Some people were even face timing their friends who were fans as well and they were singing with each other via cellphone. Moon Taxi had a distinct indie sound that I fell in love with as soon as I saw their set. One of my personal favorite songs that they performed was “Not Too Late” which also seemed to be a fan favorite. The fans were enjoying all the songs, and even those who may have not known the band or were rushing over from another artist set, were all dancing around. Explosions in The Sky was completely different compared to the other two acts. Their music was mostly instrumentals and had the crowd in a trance. Their performance was late in the afternoon and just listening to calming instruments made everyone feel relaxed after a long and exhausting day. Overall it was really cool to see the variety of artist In Bloom had lined up for their incredibly big turn out of music lovers.

Queens of the Stone Age and Martin Garrix ended the festivals first year with amazing sets. QOTSA had a lot of interaction with their fans. Front man Josh Homme had the crowd rocking out. There were so many people that looking back from the photo pit looked like the ocean. Again In Bloom this line up was everything! Lastly, Martin Garrix had such a different crowd, but oh boy it was so big.  Everyone was raving and dancing to his songs “Scared to be Lonely”, “There for You” and many others. Everyone that loves raving and that likes dance music was having the time of their lives.

I think it is safe to say that In Bloom had an incredible line up. Every act brought something different and it was so easy for people to go to sets that were catered towards their taste in music.

At the end of the day, In Bloom had a very successful full year. Hopefully the festival returns in 2019 with an amazing lineup and crowd just as they did this year. Check out our photo gallery from the festival down below.
