The music scene in the U.K is by far one of the best out there. Loads of talented singer/ songwriters, indie rock bands, jazz groups craft the beginnings of a musical career in bars across the various towns in England. So, with this is in mind I find it hard to believe when people tell me “good music is dead.” There is an immense amount of talented passionate individuals creating “good music.” What does this phrase “good music” mean? There is really no answer it can mean a lot different things- lets just say it is all based on perspective. What can be said about this term “good music,” is that there is amazing music being produced out there everyday. Now more than ever it is so easy to find music from all over the world with the help of online streaming platforms such as Souncloud and Spotify.
I was recently introduced to a really talented singer song writer from the U.K Rory Wynne. His debut EP What Would Rory Wynne Do? Is really good. It is those records you find yourself playing none stops for long periods of time. The album was produced by The Coral’s James Skelly and Richard Turvey who have also worked with Blossoms, Cabbage, and She Drew the Gun just to name a few at Liverpool’s Parr Street Studios. It is everything a good indie pop record should be.
Rory is also currently touring with Blossoms as their supporting act so make sure to catch his set at The VO5 NME Awards tour. He will also be playing Liverpool Sound City & Kendal Calling festivals! Listen to Rory’s new album below and check out his social media to be up to date with his music!
