Jackie Blue – Puberty Blues EP

Imagine yourself sitting at your porch, it’s a beautiful day. As you’re watching the cars pass by you take a sip of your ice-cold drink. Your local radio station started playing a song that fits the vibes: of course, it’s “Euphoria” by Jackie Blue.

The one and only New York based Jackie Blue has released her EP Puberty Blues featuring songs that will appear on her debut album. The EP consists of powerful songs about seeing your relationship end (Baby Blue) and sad songs performed in a catchy melodic way (Lost Boys). Jackie Blue combines electronic pop with rock-like guitar riffs which makes the album go from pop-folk (Euphoria) to powerful pop (Run Away) and even soul/blues is not being left out (Home). Throughout the album Jackie uses her voice for polyphonic depth and refreshing bridges (Young Tiguer).

The video for her most recent single “Baby Blue” totally fits the meaning of the song. As Jackie slowly sails away into the darkness on a blue smoky lake she sings about how her love story is about to end. It’s mysterious and even a bit fairy-tale like.
