Music, Why Not!

Joji @ 713 Music Hall – Houston, TX

Joji brought the Smithereens tour to 713 Music Hall on Tuesday night and wow was it an incredible show.

Fans lined up outside for hours in the Houston heat, it shows how dedicated the fanbase is and what they’re willing to do to be as close as possible to their favorite artist. Once doors opened, fans immediately headed towards the barricade to be front row for the night, once they had their spots secured, they celebrated and cheered in excitement. The show had two openers, Savage Realm and Rei Brown. Both of these artists did an amazing job at hyping up the crowd, Rei Brown even brought out Keshi to help perform his song “Forever”, the fans screamed as soon as they saw him and sang along at the top of their lungs.

It was finally time for Joji to perform, the crowd cheered the singer’s name in unison and once he came out, the venue roared in cheers and applause. The singer opened the show with fan favorite song, “Sanctuary”. The entire venue was full of fans singing their lungs out to this song, it was such an amazing moment to be in. After performing the first song, he thanked the fans for coming out to the show and performed “Yeah Right” and “will he”, during a brief moment he even went onstage riding an electric scooter and the fans absolutely loved it.

Another moment during the show, Joji had some Mcdonald’s delivered to him, fans had a good laugh. Afterwards the singer came down with an air cannon and shot tshirts into the crowd, whoever got the free merchandise was very excited. Joji then continued to sing songs from his entire discography such as “Like You Do” from “Nectar” and “Can’t Get Over You” from “Ballads 1″. The night ended with two renditions of “Slow Dancing In The Dark” and finished the show with “Glimpse of Us” from his upcoming album “Smithereens”. If Joji comes to a city near you, please make sure to attend the show, you will not regret it!
