Music, Why Not!

Joshua Basset @ Manchester O2 Ritz – Manchester, U.K

Heading out on your biggest World tour ever and playing in new cities across the globe for the first time should be a nervous situation for anyone. However ,for American teen sensation Joshua Bassett he seemed to have completely bypassed this feeling and further proved he is naturally born to be on-stage, performing to the masses. The 22-year-old actor and singer songwriter shot to stardom after being casted as Rickey Bown in Disney’s High School Musical: The Musical series which saw the talented artist gain recognition for his phenomenal musical talents. His musical skills have shined through his acting roles, time and time again and have helped him build his already successful musical career. Joshua Bassett has released a string of incredible EP’s over the last few years, with his debut self-titled EP and the highly successful ‘Sad Songs in a Hotel Room.’ As previously mentioned, Joshua Bassett now finds himself in the middle of his biggest ever world tour and knee-deep in his European tour dates. The ‘Complicated tour’ comes in anticipation for the superstar’s debut album (release date TBA) and he has sold-out shows left right and centre, resulting in some of the most electric and intimate shows I’ve seen in a while. We were lucky enough to catch Joshua Bassett as he played in Manchester, UK for the very first time down at the Manchester O2 Ritz and it was simply a star-making show, support for the night came from the wonderful Stacey Ryan. Joshua Bassett has one of the best on-stage presences for such a young star, he is full of energy and brings it to his live shows in bucketloads through the entire show. Joshua Bassett held intimate moments with what felt like everyone in the room during the night, getting up close and personal multiple times on the barrier to fans who had queued in the early hours for this show. Joshua Bassett even made his way into the busy centre of the venue to perform surrounded by a sea of his adoring fans and it was one of the most incredible things I’ve ever seen at this historic venue. Joshua Bassett is simply a star and is sure to have an extremely bright career as the years go by.
