The second night of K. Flay’s “The Inside Voices Outside Voices” Tour rolled through Terminal West in Atlanta on February 11th. The sold out show brought a room full of excited fans who were ready to dance. Openers Corook and G Flip started the night off with a bang.
Corook’s quirky sense of humor and stage presence got the crowd in a good, light mood that was ready to party. From her song called “Snakes” that was all about not messing around with them to the one all about student loans and how buried in them a lot of us are, Corook definitely gained some fans Friday night in Atlanta.
G Flip (they/them) began their set with a drum solo that they performed. Then they dove into high energy songs that kept them bouncing around the stage. They talked a lot about their Australian-ness and about how excited they were to be playing in the United States.
And K. Flay. Wooooow. She is a ball of energy that does not stop moving. Her stage presence is off the charts and the crowd definitely kept up with her. She played hit songs such as “High Enough” as well as a bunch of bangers from her new album that the tour was named after. The intermission between a few songs was filled with different stories she told that helped shape the songs. She usually sat down, told the story, and then dove into the song. It kept fans interested as they wanted to hear a bit more about what made these songs what they are.
Overall, the night was filled with lots of energy. A very reactive crowd helped balance out each performer and helped them stay excited about continuing through the night. It was a hard room to stand still in as the music was just so good that you had to bop your head to at the minimum. It’s safe to say that Atlanta loves K. Flay and cannot wait for her next stop in our city.
