Music, Why Not!

What is good music? Is there such thing as the perfect song? Isn’t music subjective? What I like and think is fucking bomb others might dislike and call me crazy for listening to it. I don’t think there such thing as good or bad music.. I think that a song that comes from the heart, is passionate, and just purely honest is a “good song.” You see I really have a problem with the term “good music” I don’t think anyone is in the position to judge a piece of art… because Hey! Why don’t you compose and produce the song yourself. You see music is literally a way into the musicians imagination. So how can imagination that is later turned into chord progressions, riffs, melodies, and lyrics be ugly? If you ask me I think this term of “good music” is not a proper way to describe any type of music. I think there is beauty in everything that is done with dedication. I think there is beauty in all types of music because it is a form of human expression. Which is now being oppressed by those who think it has nothing to offer. Yet, they forget that music is one of the most relevant and honest thing this world has. It is universal in many ways. It sets you free and lets you fly into other worlds- often even your own world. I like finding songs that do this to my imagination and soul. That let me fly and often forget the “real world.” I like songs that make me feel like the artists have navigated the same ocean I am sailing. I think their is a silent understanding of the long lasting impacts music can have on someone. Whether a band is selling out arenas or having the courage to play at their local bar they are still doing something great. You see I have always believed in the talent of new bands. They have so much to offer with their fresh authentic minds. Recently I got the chance to interview a band from Canada called Little Junior while they were on tour with July Talk. Their music is punk, but not just any punk- It is electrifying punk. They make the tiny hairs in your arm swoop up, and for a couple of minutes they make you forget. I saw them live and I fell in love with their music even more. So dive into their interview with us and discover why you will be falling in love with their sound too!
